Tian'an Men / The Gate of Heavenly Peace
When my Chinese professor told us that it was not worth wasting time to go to 天安门广场 (Tian'an Men Square), we all watched in disbelief, wondering how it was possible.
Well, Tian'an men are gone, and it pains me to admit that my prof was right: I was disappointed very much, it's nothing special. Apart from the large face of Mao joyous welcomes you and the tourists who ask you the photos with them, that's not really anything. So if you should go for a quick trip to Beijing, do not plan to spend too much time to Tian'an Men.
Ah, what the "funny" is that before entering the streets make you control your bags and go to X-rays, but if you are a foreigner you do go through all due respect. Unfortunately
